November 21, 2008, Newsletter Issue #142: Bachelorette Party On A Budget

Tip of the Week

If finances are tight right before the wedding, there is no crime in having a bachelorette dinner at home for your bachelorette party. It allows all of the bachelorette's friends to enjoy themselves in a cozy, safe environment. Holding the party at a private home also allows more room to plan; as organizers can have control over decorations, beverages and food, everything can be woven into the theme.

If you do not have a theme planned, consider asking the bride's mother for recipes of the bride's favorite meals as a child. There is nothing like a feast of comfort food to de-stress a bride before the big day. Another option is to hold a pot-luck dinner with a difference, asking each guest to bring something they know the bride will love.

Careful planning is the key to a successful bachelorette dinner, so make sure all decorations, drink supplies and music is set up well before the due day. Instead of having to run around getting drinks during the bachelorette dinner, pick a couple of wines that will complement the food being served and keep the cocktails and shots for later.
